Chemo Hat Campaign
We’re excited to partner again with Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute (LCI) to support adult cancer patients in our community.

Ways You Can Help
LCI is in need of adult chemo hats, and our Charlotte Yarn community has been invited to help.
If you’d like to participate, here are the ways you can contribute:

Pattern & Construction Guidelines
To ensure comfort for chemo patients with sensitive scalps:
✔ No holes in the body of the hat. (Many patients prefer full coverage.)
✔ Minimal texture — avoid bumps, ridges, or anything that may irritate the head.
✔ No seam — please work in the round.
✔ Provide full coverage, including the ears and lower back of the head.
✔ No tied knots in the yarn. Use a Russian Join instead. (A video demonstration is available here.)
Suggested Free Patterns
Feel free to use any pattern that meets the requirements above.
Finishing Instructions
✔ Wash and dry each hat.
✔ Package each hat individually in its own bag.
✔ Include fiber content and washing instructions with each hat.
✔ Please do not use dryer sheets or any scented products.
